About The Client
BASF is the world's leading chemical company. It's portfolio ranges from chemicals, plastics, performance products, agricultural products and fine chemicals to crude oil and natural gas.
Problem
BASF had two major problems to solve for Rimagine. The first problem was that BASF couldn’t get a shot from of their entire e(and gigantic) factory premises. The second problem was that interior shots were required but the space was extremely limited, resulting in distorted perspectives and not unwanted angles.
Solution
In order to get a shot from of the entire premises, our producer Lynn arranged a cherry picker, which elevated the photographer up to approximately 30 meters above the ground. From this position, Phil, the photographer, could create several images which covereding the entire building. After the photography, the retouching department of Rimagine removed a lot of objects and made the image look exactly like BASF wanted it.
Because of the limited space, to get the very specific interior shot which BASF required, our photographer, Phil, had to work on with an extreme wide angle lens because of limited space. The standard wide angle-lens did, however, create falling lines and distortion. To solve the problem Rimagine arranged to use a specific tilt-shift lens and was thus able to deliver the required visual despite the confined space.
