About The Client
Ekcess Trading is owned by an American management team, and has offices in both the U.S. and Shanghai, China. Their main scope of business is sourcing, producing and marketing different lines of products, such as promotional and merchandising articles, knifes and home accessories.
 
 
Problem
Ekcess produces one 60-page catalog per year and sends it to clients around the world. During the previous years, Ekcess had always used several different companies to produce the catalog, i.e. different photo studios, creative agencies, prepress companies and print shops. This process was time-consuming and communication intensive

In the end there was a lot of (mis)communications problems between all the different providers, and the end result suffered from this. Ekcess was unhappy with the catalog
 
 
 
Solution
As Rimagine has all required skill to produce the catalog in-house, a project team was created to work together to produce the entire 60 page catalog. The team consisted of:

- Producer (Project Manager)
- Art Director & Table-Top Stylist
- Lead Photographer
- Lead Retoucher & Print Manager
 
  
 
As all the involved talents work under the same roof, it was easy for the team to meet regularly to discuss and follow-up on the project. The 250 products to be photographed were all shot in the photo studio in Shanghai. After the photography, all these images were retouched (clean up, clipped, optimized) and stored in Rimagine’s internal image database.

 
All pages were optimized for print by Rimagine’s pre-press operator - who also stood next to the printing machine till late into the night to oversea the printing process - enusuring not only a creative design, but also high quality in the final printed result.
